I have, over the years, had several squeeze bulbs go bad on me...one during elims at Oroville last year and the rest at local club races. I have also seen other racers not get off the beach or die mid heat due one of these little rubys going bad. I have also watched numerous people use lung pressure to pressurize fuel systems, only to have them accidently suck fuel into their tummy when the thing over pressurizes. I came up with a very simple solution to this problem.....I put a "Shrader valve" on my fuel tank. The tank I bought for my Tohatsu DSH rig is a two gallon oil tank...and it has 2 vents. I simply attached a small piece of fuel hose to the spare vent (which I had blocked off before) and attached the valve to the end of the tube using hose clamps. I have a small ten gallon portable air tank with an air chuck on the end, and used that to pressurize the tank, holding my finger over the other vent. All three carbs were dry of fuel, and the air pressure filled them up within 5 seconds. Not only that, I did not even have to choke the motor to get it to fire....it started right up after sitting for 6 months. You could use any kind of air supply...a small tire pump would work just fine....you only need 3 or 4 lbs of pressure to get the fuel to the carbs. I found the valve at Shucks Auto supply for $1.49...seems pretty fool proof to me. David
