          alex u mean the boat?

          Alex,
If you mean the boat, Mike and I were told when we were at the Nationals in Bakersfield, was it 78?, that it was a Yamato boat. they motored around with them using them as tow boats.

They would pop on plane like a rocket as i remember. OR was that a vision from all the Tequila we consumed???!!

I was wondering that after my first post to Alex,

and YES I agree its either the 350 or 500. I have a 500 that has the Bing carbs on it.

Those Yamatos were piston port 4 cylinders.

You should see some of the pictures from Europe ... we are much more modest than the rest of the world.

Bakersfield was 77, Saranac Lake was 78.
I remember Bill Giles driving one back to the pits and I thought, "what in the world (no pun intended) is that thing"???
They were only probationary that year if I remember correctly.

                      Thanks Jeff!

I knew it was one of those years. Mike and I drove Maine to Cali in 51 hours to get there. We brought one of Dad's Super C engines for Bill Giles to run and also picked up the Giles Hydro that Maloof ran in DSH.
