So this thread really intrigues me, please keep it going. For the past year I have worked on the management team for a chain of 4 hardware stores and a lumberyard and prior to that I spent 7 years as a buyer for a regional distributor to hardware stores and lumberyards. ... I am a tool guy.
In the back of my head I have wondered if a dedicated web site to sell boat racing tools, acessories, and "stuff" would be a viable sideline gig or does everyone have their own "place" that they get their stuff. Would pricing be the main deciding factor - i.e. if I couldn't beat the Home Depot or somewhere else online would you shop there? ... or how about this, what if some pre-determined percentage of profit margin went back into racing; either back to the local club that you are affiliated with (may need to enroll a computer nerd to figure that one out) or back to sponsor a race or series of races. Would you (at least consider) making you're purchases through a site like this because you knew funds were going back into racing even if it may or may not be your local races?
In the meantime, keep the list going ... and if yor trying to "source" something shoot me an email and I'll quote you. Try me out for anything hardware related, pnuematic nails/staples, stainless steel screws, etc ... Hey, I put West System into the distributors assortment ... just because. ...and as far as impact drivers go, I could probably get the Bosch (not sure how much $) or I believe I could quote pretty competitively on a Milwaukee or Dewalt kit (brand new / Lithium Ion batteries / etc /etc)
