  • SO Winter Nationals Eatonville, WA April 2nd & 3rd

In case you didn't get the memo. 2011 Stock Outboard Winter Nationals IS going to happen, just a change of venue and date. It will now be held in Eatonville, Washington and hosted by the Seattle Outboard Association in conjunction with their April Fools Day Race at Henley's Resort on Silver Lake.

This is going to be a great event! (Not that all races aren't great events) This is a wonderful site and the former home of Unlimited Hydroplane driver "Smilin" George Henley. I can't think of a better place to hold the winter nationals and my hat's off to those who made this happen on such short notice.

Now these great people have started a non-perishable food drive to help supply the Eatonville Food Bank. Wow! Bring a items of non-perishable food stuffs, fuel up the car, dust off the boat trailer and make a trip to Washington State.

We will be traveling from Montana to participate and encourage anyone else to so the same. Great folks + Great Site = TONS of fun.

Time to shake off the winter snow and go and play

Mapquest shows Sea/Tac International Airport as 1 hr. 12 mins. or 53.88 miles north of Henley's Resort (Silver Lk.) - Eatonville, WA.

          Hope this helps

Do you need prior arrangements to have a travel trailer there?

No prior arrange ments needed BUT.....

Since we will be doing a LOT more inspection work at this race (we are flying Roger Carr up from Cali to be the chief inspector for Winternats) we will need more room. I intend to keep trailers out of the area even with the turnoff to to Jimi's area (on the right) all the way to the ramp. This means the area where Guedo normally puts his trailer, as well as the other side where Rautenbergs usually have theirs. We may end up using more of the grass area for pit space, as well as more of the upper lot. Mark Mallory will be pit boss again, so I expect the whole show down at the ramp to run smoothly as usual. I am also putting out first call for gas powered weed whackers to knock down the grass an Jimi's place Friday morning. Let me know if you can help, if we can get 2-3 of them going we should be able to make quick work of it.

I think you and I are on the same page Mike. Winter Nationals at Eatonville came about quickly, but SOA is happy to step-up and take it on. With this said, our group will continue to communicate and fine tune our plan. Personally, I plan on driving down to Henleys Resort on Thursday to help clear Jimi's front yard and possibly mark off areas for inspection, ect. If we can get some of this stuff out of the way Thursday, it makes for less work (headaches) Friday.

                        See you at Silver Lake
