  • 102 or 302 gear foot

HELP!!! Just got the word from the foot doctor that my gear foot is terminal. I am looking for a good used 102 or 302 gearfoot with a 9/16 shaft for a reasonable price. Hopefully someone can help out.

MAYBE A 'T' SHIRT COULD BE INVOLVED IN THIS DEAL!!!!

    Thanks

What is wrong with your unit that it can't be fixed?????
    Is it a 102 or a 302?

102 of course but we can run either in AOF. The cone nut is bad and so are the gears. Prop gear and cone nut are NA. Unit is with Ric.

Are you looking for a stock or mod unit?

Please don't let Ric throw the foot in the scrap heap ... I have a friend (Peter Hunn, the Old Outboard Book guy) who would dearly like to have as a souvenir/novelty. If a junk shaft could be put in it, that would even better.

              Get a 302

I thought you could use the 302 gearbox on the 102 ? Did I misunderstand the rules ?

If so, there should be a lot of those out there, new and used.

I would get your gearbox back and repair it. Gears are cheap and I am sure the cone nut threads could be fixed. Not sure if that is legal in stock APBA, but it is everywhere else. I have even welded up a hole in the side of a gearbox housing and raced it many races in 850CCMH, the toughest class on gears in APBA. Don't give up on a blown set of gears and a stripped thread.

Personally I have stuff for my two boats but the rest of the family run stock classes and they are dead in the water, Of coarse I supply all the equipment and they drive. Isn't that the way So I will keep the foot for spare parts but we need something. One member may have a bent case with good guts so we will see.

Yes you can run a 302 on a 102 but in AOF you can use either foot on either motor so we are not picky. When I run APBA it is in mod now so I don't have to worry.
