  • Stock Outboard Fantasy Finals

Because it's winter...and not much else to talk about...here's a little something to chat up.

If you could watch the best 12 go at it for all the marbles in one race, who would you choose?

Here's a list based on National championship results plus first hand experience over the past 42 years.

We'll start with ASR. Still a couple slots open to fill the field. If someone needs removed...bring some good evidence. These names have the hardware to back up their spot in the finals. In no particular order...the finalists are:

    ASR-

    1. Andy Hansen
    2. Jim McDonough
    3. Dean Chenowith
    4. J. Michael Kelly
    5. Dominic Difebo
    6. Craig Selvidge
    7. Wyatt Nelson
    8. David Dewald
    9. Bill Rosado

Casey Minton had about 5 mph on the field at Wakefield in... 91? I remember the huge smile on him as he was smoking by us on the outside midway through the first turn!

                JMK for sure!

                What about Andy Anderson 74-W?

                  Ed Hearn

He and JMK are the 2 best small runabout drivers I have had the good fortune to watch.

                      Cool

Definitely Andy Anderson. Carl Holt. Brad Schaub (in case you don't do 25SSR).

Looks like Andy has made the Fantasy ASR finals...with several votes. I concur...great runabout driver.

And yes...25ssR is coming up soon.

Honorable mention to Ray Hammond (45-J), Wayne Seeburg (Oroville Natl Champ.) and Max McPeek (Blue Max).
Way...... back in 1980 @ Wakefield, I was 50# overweight in ASR and was fastest qualifier in ASR. Cooper said something about me making the BSR weight! I don't know if he would remember?

So Peter, what happened in the finals in 1980? I know how disappointing it is to be fastest qualifier and not come home in 1st.
