        Meh, that was weak, here's 245 feet on snow...he actually over-rotated and landed on his head instead of his back.

          I really don't know what that guy was thinking with the skis. There is no way your body can compensate for the amount of drag (wind resistance) the skis will give falling from that height.

            They are able to control their bodies quite well in the air, (as long as the take-off is good) but he was trying to land on his back on that jump. Here's more of him, many jumps and he never over-rotated like that.

                    True...I've done a little white water rafting and kayaking/rafting white water will give anyone a first hand view and respect of the power of moving water.

                    Here's a few pictures of a newly opened area at Mt Hood Meadows, gated access, side country, our first time in S&R Cliffs (Search & Rescue is what Ski Patrol called it because most who ventured in this area need it.)
