    Whats Up. Seems like lots of C mods coming for 2011

    So we watch all posts just to make sure things don't get out of hand. I have notice it seems a lot of folks are moving into the Mod classes. Whats your reason for moving into Mods?? Looks like especially C Mod is going to be the up and coming class of 2011

    I will say why I moved last year.

    1) I like the sound of the tuned pipe
    2) the rules are easier but allow some playing
    3) for some of us that dont like a class of 20 boats or more like CSH and have driven a ton of miles to get eliminated in the first go round and sit for the rest of the day or weekend. Not for me
    These were my big three reasons for moving on.

    A little plug for MRC is we have a great set of plans for a C Mod kneeler and are working on a brand new Laydown version. Will make a hell of a deal to someone if interested. I really want to promote the class in any of the organizations APBA, NBRA and AOF.

    Why CMH?
    1. Chicks dig pipes
    2. Refer to #1
    3. Runs DSH speed, less a bunch of weight
    4. One more class to try to beat Palmquist in
    5. I can lift the motor without busting a ---

      John we missed you this year at Eatonville. Do you by any chance have contact info for Dudley that we can post here for inquiring minds that are trying to round up all the exhaust stuff they need.

        I had wanted to get into this class since the first race I saw and kind of feel into my boat .

        And as stated the pipes )

        And I thought it's a class Guedo doesn't race so I might have a chance..... Doh

          I have Dudley's # - PM me if you would like it. When talking to Dudley, he plans on starting production of Tietze's design at the beginning of the year, if everything goes to plan and as like everybody else he has a bunch on his plate. I have (2) 102 sets on order, and I'm sure if you call him he'd produce a set or two for you too, after all, money is the answer to most questions.

            Im building a motor as we speak. Im actually looking for 102 parts myself.

            Reason.....well pipes sound nice, and it gives me another class to run. Plus i can jack theotor to the moon if i like!!!

            ...The real reason, i have a 102 powerhead sitting on the bench, and i need something to tinker with

                I was lucky enough to start driving a C Mod last year.

                I love it. The boat is a little bigger which suits me better than my C Stock, and because of the increase in speed and acceleration, it just seems that I can put it wherever I want to be, and it gets there.

                I especially like the additional speed and acceleration in the turns.

                When I come in from driving it, I feel the need to scream...YEEEESSSS!

                I think it is the perfect race boat.

                Chicks may dig the pipe, but they haven't said anything to me about it.

                  First thing I want to say is that we are learning CAD and my wife being the guru of computers has picked it very fast so basically I let her know what to do and she is great at getting it done. We can now custom design a boat to your dimensions.

                  I do not want to give dimensions out over this web site or nobody will buy any plans but I will say that a laydown is different. It needs more lift built into it since the drivers weight is stationary and can't move forward and backwards. The kneeler is the same as it has been but we can change to your specs.

                  Basically there are four ways to get more lift. Move the break point in the bottom, widen the tunnel, extend the bottom further forward, and boat setup with the right prop.

                  I may end up burning up boats but our goal for a laydown design is to get one to be as good or better than a kneeler.

                    Mark, was it a kneeler that you drove. To me if you want a real rush drive a laydown C Mod once. It will scare you the first time you go full speed into a turn and find out you are just along for the ride. You cant lean and it just don't feel right. Once you get use to it it is a lot of fun and being that much lower you feel like you are going even faster. They are fun and always go out and come back. The engines are very reliable for a mod class.

                          If that was Jack Stotts C-Mod, there is no better ride out there, that one is special. It will completely spoil you.
