  • 1st impression of 20 sidewinder

After racing finished on Saturday I got my first ride in a 20 sidewinder. Tom Nuccio was gracious enough to let me take a few laps in his new Bennett boat.

It's awsome! I wish I had the budget for one right now. It has more punch than you can imagine. The boat handles so nice with the little motor on back.
The power band is way up. I am guessing at around 6500 is where it comes in and just keeps winding its way up to 8000 or so. It's probably the smoothest, most responsive ride I have ever had in a stock runabout

I ran a restricted 102 against him. I would get to the turn ahead of him and then the sidewinder just ate my lunch. It comes out of the turn so hard. I wasn't really any competition. He just drove around my outside and accelerated away.

Once the props are figured out a little more, It will be THE MOTOR for the class.

    Thanks again Tom!
