    Suitable class

So, given my size, what class would I race in and what type of boat?

If not, could it still be fun for pleasure or should I not risk messing the motor up for collectable value reasons?
Answer to Q: CSHydroplane or Runabout, either with a Yamato 302. Minimum CSH class weight is 440lbs - 220(you), 90(engine), 120(boat), 20(safety gear) = 450lbs+/-. For CSR, 475lbs min class weight, so get a boat @ 150, weigh in at 480. You'd be competitive in either class w right set-up, AND TONS OF FUN!! You're too heavy for A or B class, for having fun on the lake, or to race(eventually). You'll want a C within a month!
You could get CSH/CSR, and play on a lake until ready to race on a course.
How soon can we help you spend your$$'s, to get you on H2O?...operators are standing by

    PS: I weigh 190, have a KG4H on ASH Bezoat for fun at cottage. I race 20SSH/CSH w Y302.

You can run that at top O marathon in vintage class. They would love to have you run with them. You can run there vintage shorter course or go for the full race course which is the best race you can ever run in!!!!. The fastest one on the rivers does not win, its the one that can get over the rough lakes and not break down or flip!!
It is a legal in A-Mod classes, won't be the fastest thing out there, but you can get your feet wet in boat racing and go on from there to newer stuff if you like it.

Sell the KG, get a Yamato and run the Top O in"C" (43 miles each day) or keep the KG and run in vintage (12 miles each day). Either way you will have a blast but the full race through the Cheboygen River and Crooked River is best.
