Greg Hopp- GP- 166mph

Jeff Bernard- NM- 153 and change

Mark Moyle- in a flat bottom class- like 94ish mph.

Any thing on the outboard side?

How was the turnout? Weather? What were people shooting for? It has to be an off year for outboards if Wart didn't set a record

Mark Moyles record was in the Comp Jet class. Villwock was there with his PS 400 flatbottom, but had no luck with course conditions.

I ran the CSR on saturday. No luck and should have ran sunday, but i didn't have the extra $150 entry. Should have scratched saturday to run sunday. Oh well.

Bob Wartnger was there with a 125cch. But didn't run saturday. did he even run sunday? i didn't see any pics. I know they were having ignition problems.

The Wart and Darrell Show were still fighting with ignition and timing issues on their Rossi-powered 125H. Never hit the water.

Here are results from Mom (Laureen). From the Oregon Highway Dept's Lincoln City cams Sunday looked to be a keeper. I was pretty sure that Jeff would be OK. All that kept him out last year was the wind coming up while he refueled after the clock failure. I thought Moyle had something left after last year too, and there's probably more yet...in 1994 (I think) John Fox set a comp-jet record of about 104 that was frozen later.

Saturday, October 9:

Greg Hopp from Snohomish, Wa increased the record he set at Devils Lake in 2008 in the GP (Grand Prix) Class from 155.182 mph to 165.284 mph.

Sunday, October 10:

Mark Moyle from Burley, ID increased the record he set at Devils Lake in 2009 in the Competition Jet Class from 94.966 mph to 96.008 mph.

Jeff Bernard from Kent, WA increased the record set at Devils Lake by Larry Lauterbach in 2005 in the National Mod Class from 152.274 mph to 153.693 mph.

Dave Villwock from Auburn, WA tried in vain to increase the speed record of 137.586 mph in the Pro Stock Class but came up a little short.

Saturday’s heavy rain and wind called off the event around 12:00 noon but Sunday was calm and partly sunny. The scanner 2 operator at the north end of the lake radioed over that the water in front of him was the calmest he has ever seen it as that area is notorious for always having wind.

Sunday’s event was called at 1:30 p.m. as the small turn out of entrants were all finished with their runs.
