This is a great time.....Weather permit'n...OR not!!!
Last two years have been sun-burn weather with the fallow'n week...10-17 inches of snow.....Crazy fun way ta end the season!!!!

Steve, Charlie's Fun Run is the 13th & 14th of November. All the permits are done and approved.

We have been camping out on the Allegheny this weekend testing his 25xs & 102. Both motors are running great and we are going to put his 25xs on the back of a B&H we where doing all of 75-80mph with it. I am hoping to have the B&H done that is being refinished and painted for the fun run. I think you will like it. The Browns fans will not be so happy It will be all black with a yellow/gold stripe down the middle. I know its a long haul back but we hope to see ya there.

Start a whole new thread titled "Charlie's Fun Run" so everyone can see it and we can see how many will attend.

I wanted to let everyone know this is not only a good place and time for testing your rigs but also a good way to get newcomers involved in the sport.

My brief history of "Charlie Fry's Fun Run; It was only my second year of attending. (I never been in a hydro before) When "FAST" Freddie Lapek came over and asked me if I would like to try his boat out....Welll...... I was a little reluctant to do this because of the speeds but I got in anyways did a few laps and wellll to make a long story short I joined APBA, TRORA bought a rig and raced the very next year in AMOD at Franklin, PA and man I will never regret this.

So with our numbers needing to be increased what better way to promote a sport as fun and family oriented as this. This aint a race (although we could if you wanted to) just a group of people out to have a great time before the long slumbering winter sets in on us.

So if you want to support the sport of boat racin' bring your rig to Charlie Fry's Fun Run @ Oil City, PA, The Marina on Nov. 13th & 14th. And tell all your friends.

Charlies been in this sport for 50+ years and most of you know the man so who better desirves the support.

A hello to Charlie please.

Hello. Charlie has come to Top'O a few times and has always camped out at 'KampKurz', which is, of course, how I got to know and love him. His spirit is golden and never any but a kind word. I can remember, one vist, giving him a ride to Saginaw to catch a Greyhound home. He was so appreciative.
I just want you give Charlie a mighty 'howdy' for me and let him know he is missed at KampKurz, and if he can ever make it back up, he would be very welcome and it would make Top'O a lot more fun for me and others, I know.
I had not yet started to race when Charlie last visited, and knowing Charlie, I know he would be absolutely stoked to see me running Top'O.
Just wanted to make an attempt to say hello, and I hope you guys have a great time at the Charlie Fry Fun Run. Wish I could come this year. Mark Kurz

although i dont race anymore, i do get on hydroracer here and there. and its post's like this that bring back memories. charlie fry. well what can you say about charlie. ? guys like him that made racing what it is today. thanks for all the memories charlie, steve, and allen. miss all you guys.

Hit'n the road this morn'n for Oil City......Have to run North to check on house in Clymer,Ny.......then in dentist chair all day Friday for bridge work and tune up on a couple cavities before one of my clasemates/buddies from high school retires/closes his office......we were supposed to have bought a Tiki Bar in the Keys by age 50 for retirement.....Huh, 5 years late on dat one!!

Anyway, will be in Oil city Late Friday/early Sat at Fish Fuzz ramp.....Archie bring'n the "Red Devil"/Altralite and his Hot-Rod.....I might grab my 25XS and Prop box.(Note Rossman!!)

Sat. 1PM moment of silence for Mike Kench and others from this season.
