I know were Dana's blue former 1998 Nationals BSH winner is. It is the one that just beat (on time by a few clicks) my Webster built hydro that Dean 12M won the first heat with......Back when THEY ran dat "Boring class"........(Just a little vent'n/humor guys....ZING!!....DUCK!(14J)).......

It is very fast but a handfull in race set-up/trim...............

It went to a rookie who smoke'd da field down da shoot, went in'ta the first turn at Franklin/Ford City?.... at full tilt.....spiral rolled it......and never raced again.

Was then sold ta a lake racer friend of mine who I know at Canadohta Lake, Pa.

Have helped Russ (current owner) set-up his several kg-4s/20Hs on it......but he has pretty much retired it to the wall of his boat house/bar room and runs a more stable, and much older, B+H rig that we chase each other around da lake with.

Probably has not seen water since 2000 and is MINT!!!!!!

Could check white pages for Pittsburg, pa. and see if he wants ta part with it if you like?

This 1-US RaceCraft should be a ROCKET with a Sidewinder....or A-MOD on it!!!!!!!!!!....If Russ wants ta clean his beer can collection off it and pull it off da wall.....

So should my Webster 12M rig!!!!!...Huummm.......

Check out the 1998 Natiomals video fer a reference..........

IF he recalled correctly on how much the boat weighs. it would be good for a 200 lb driver.
          365 - 65lb sidewinder motor= 300
          300- 90 lb boat = 210
210 for driver and cut suit = on weight

                    Kev,

Paul Trolian is about your size and he ran it in B. I started this thread since Gene is looking for a BSH and thought the RaceCrafts ran well and would work for someone your or Gene's size.

                      weight

So far the 2 racecrafts currently in captivity and for sale, weigh between 95 and 105 lbs. Maybe I should buy one of them and trade with Dudly, I think his may weigh more then that.
Any one have contact info for Paul? I would like to see what his boat weighs.

                        Bsh

                        Bill,
I still have one of the 35" bottom RC bsh's sitting in storage. It is low-radar signature matte black(aka primer) right now and could use some fresh paint but is in overall good condition. Don't know the weight off-hand but ran it at 150lbs.for BSH. Price is negotiable, but cheap........even cheaper if you pick up the boat
                        Nate

Hi Nate, did you have to add weight at 150#? Picking it up could be an option.

                            weight

                            Hi Gene,
When I raced it regularly, I weighed 165 and did add about 10lbs. of lead(with a Hot Rod). I ran it 3 years ago at 150 and still needed lead. Dudley ran it a couple years ago and he said it was marginally lighter than his RC bsh at the time. It has been sitting/drying out for years but its not getting lighter with time so realistically, I would guess that you may need 5-10lbs. I could be over-under-estimating the boats actual weight. Dudley may chime in with the number he saw on the scales with it a couple years back.
                            Nate

                              Chimera RaceCraft BSH

                              Gene,
If memory serves correctly Nate's BSH weighed 107 ~ 110 lbs, when I raced it at Millville a couple of years back. Very good & fast boat. It seemed like you only needed to think about turning and it was hooked up on rails going around the turn. It was a more on the edge/experienced driver boat than the boat I got from Paul with the wider bottom. It would be an excellent Sidewinder 15 boat but if you're thinking of running 250MH with a Hot Rod with pipes the wider bottom is better (think Nate's would be too much on the edge).

I just sold the BSH I got from Paul to Doug Wellings, because it was sitting in storage and it was too good of a boat for that. I think Doug is planning to maybe use it as a 250MH boat.

If you've got any more questions about the boat let me know.

                              Have a great day.

                              Later,
                              Dudley
