Only UIM requires reinforced cockpit sides. Both boats are OSY400 and are UIM compliant.

Interesting construction

Are those gussets under the frames attaching to the stringers, or are the frames notched out? If I wasn't such a wood butcher I'd love to finish one like those, beautiful.
