  • Hey Ed Hearn!!!!

did'nt want this buried in the other thread.

    Ed,

I would like your help in getting the SORC to help MRC fund a brand new complete CSH (302) that we can have on display and for sale to a new name racer only at the Kev's Coffee info booth. We need this as we all know the ABC's of selling - Always Be Closing - and if you do not have product sitting there that they can look at and touch it is difficult if not impossible to close the deal. Kev takes credit cards BTW.

Please forgive MRC in advance in case this rig gets used in OSY.

    thanks,
    Bill

PS - I am serious about the SORC helping us get this rig. When sold MRC would repay the entire amount borrowed and with a small amount of interest in order to help fund the next "new name" rig.

We still have money left in the Promo fund. How much do you want?

If it gets used in OSY-400, we will charge the PRO Category interest on the loan.

Or we could use their money to pay for an ambulance at a drivers school or two and consider ourselves ahead...

Different note here, I got a ton of great shots of your boats at Lock Haven. E-mail me about checking some proof's of them, spkphoto@cox.net.

                  Bill,

This is sure fire way to get someone hooked. And you know the credit card machine might make someone impulse buy. Kudos. Now if we can get a bank to finance each club with a few rigs to haul around and offer those loans like they do for Jet Skis that would be even better. I don't know too many people in boat racing that can write a check for a complete rig. The less barrieres we have the better, it needs to be as easy as buying a Jet Ski.

I agree Dave. Too bad it took people like me so long to realize it! But we are trying to fix it.

Don't you know a boat builder or two?

                      Just poking fun.

                      -Bill

p.s. we did this about 2 years ago working with the club (BSOA/MRC). Had a complete rig on the trailer and it was never once mentioned during one of our events. I like the strategy, but the word needs to get out there as compared to past events. It was a complete 'C' style rig with a 302 and prop for roughly $6k and ready to roll.

Actually it WAS mentioned at the booth several times. but since it was on your trailer and not at the booth. I could only send them to you guys. Then if you happened to be racing at the time.... lol

Well we don't have radios in our pits lol. You have to let us know these things Kev! We were relatively ambitious about getting this boat into the hands of a new driver being that the boat was built for a rookie/less-experienced driver.

So often people do not want to bother people that look like they are busy.
Or If I try to send them deeper into the pits to ask a specific person questions. many are very hesitant to do so. Of course there is allways the exception... you know those people that wait to start asking questions untill you are suiting up and have to go race... LOL
one example I had sent a family to a specific trailer. It just so happened that when they finnaly went over. That person had about 1 min before their sons J class went green. They sent them away. OFCOURSE they asked them to come back after that race. but I did have to walk them over before they felt comfortable going back. The family did NOTHING wrong. The Racer did nothing wrong, It was just bad timing. With the stuff at the booth all of that is avoided.

It may have been built for a rookie, but it was by no means uncompetitive. That thing nearly got me a high point title in CSH last year! I guess where we screwed up was by not racing it around the course with a great big 'for sale' sign on it.
