I remember hearing about outboard races in Coal City, IL back in the day. Does anyone know what body of water the races were held on?

Coal City

The one I remember was formed from a strip mine or quary. there were no homes on it I think you used the Lorenzo road exit from I-55 Gerry G may know, I know the Hedlunds raced there

Just before I started racing in 1966, there where races in a stone quary in that general area. It seems it was just a large hole with high sides. It all ended before I started.
