    Jeff:

    Although we have never met, I feel I know you, as well as a lot of others on the site from reading your posts over the last few years.

    I suffered a very similar injury to my left hip as what you describe, in 1974 from a tunnel boat blow over, and subsequently underwent total hip replacement in 76 and then again to replace that one in 2001. If you ever want to talk about the process that is involved in recovering from a serious hip injury, what to do and what not, feel fee to give me a call anytime (I am two hours later than you, CDT) at 636-942-2283 or PM me if that is easier.

    Friends and family are really important when you suffer an injury such as this as you have posted and you are finding out. I was fortunate I had several folks calling almost every day during the five weeks I was in the hospital, and many cards and letters, both some I could show and some I could not, so I know how important that can and will be to you.

    Good luck in the recuperative process, and if you want to talk or ask questions from someone who has been thru what you are going thru now, feel free to call.

      I suffered some cracked ribs and a severely dislocated and fractured right hip. I will be seeing a specialist tomorrow morning and should have more info on the recovery proses then. Sitting at the computer is a bit painful right now so I will be brief but will try and keep you updated on my progress.

      I'm so grateful to so many people for the way they helped me and my family since the wreck. I's truly amazing the amount of love and caring we have experienced from “all”of you. (You know who you “all” are).

      On behalf of my family and myself....Thank you! We truly love each and every one of you!

      Life is good... I'm enjoying it today. I hope you all are enjoying it too!

        Glad to hear you in good spirits. You've been on my mind since the accident - I was doing some motor when I heard the accident and looked up to see the splash. I'll be praying for a complete recovery and hope to see you again down the road soon.

          Good Luck

          Jeff,

          Wishing you a speedy recovery. I know what the ribs feel like, but not the hip. In my blow over of the FER I can say, time heals. A pillow close by helps too, because friends will call to cheer you up and try to make you laugh. It sucks to be done and out, and thankfully your injuries you will recover from with little worries.

          I am pretty far away, but if you need anything holler, you have my cell.

              You guys are great!

              So it's been a week since the big SPLASH. My right hip is a multi colored mess of pain and numbness all wrapped in to one. Using a walker to get around. I was able to get on the floor yesterday for some core work and a little yoga( felt good to work out again) even if it was just a little. I see a physical therapist on Tuesday... looking forward to it! Trying not to take anymore Hydrocodone today....We will see how that go's.

              Thanks again for all the love and support,

              I'll keep ya posted....

                  Jeff;

                  Keep up the good work ! Sounds like you have the right attitude to get well in a timely fashion ! Don't overdo it, easy to do (Been there and done that !), I am sure the ribs will notify you if you are doing too much !
