  • Y-80 Fuel pump

    Has anyone ever used the fuel pump on a y80 that BTM sell? looking for any info. on it? thanks Mark 77-W

    I used a mikuni motorcycle pump, It worked very well for me.

      You just run it off of crank case pressure right? I was was thinking of relocating my tank to the back of the boat one would think the boat would handle better from lowering the center of gravity.

        Exactly, I did the same thing for the same reason. Only thing is you need a lot of fuel line.

          I agree that they look nice and may handle slightly better, but keep in mind that gravity doesn't fail. I have seen a few fuel pump issues cause a missed heat of racing. I may go to it eventually, but not yet.

                Simple.....

                It is elementary.......

                electric fuel pump= 12v power source to drive it, not ideal.

                mechanical fuel pump= crankcase Hg & PSI pulses to drive it.

                      Biggest down side I see to the block mounted tank, is at races where fueling in the water is prohibited.
                      Hauling in/out for 2l of fuel is a pain. A 2gal tank in the bottom of the boat lets u race all day.
                      But I see some with extra large tanks.
                      Are they OEM, and are they kosher?
