Here is how we do testing at Dayton. First, the Lake is closed Friday due to the surveors needing to set the record course which they do on Friday. They have to use radio communication to set the course. Therefore, we do permit quiet boats to go out on the lake and test at their own risk if they stay far away from the surveying crew. Open-exhaust Mods can test at the end of the day after the survey crew is finished. Again, this is at the driver's own risk.

Any navigation on the Hydrobowl on Friday is pursuant to normal boating laws as DRRA does not have control of the water on Friday.

Thanks for the reply, sooo by "quiet" I assume you mean no open pipes ect. Can I also assume that your basic 302 falls into that "quiet" catagory.

            Thx,

            Sam

Tom Sutherland, TJ, and I will be setting the course. It's sometimes difficult to do in a timely manor, especially if there is a strong wind. Boat wakes and engine noise make it worse. Having said all that negative stuff, the lake is pretty long and if testers stay away from the crew, it is possible to do both. I know the other guys on the team want all to be able to test so we will do the setting job as fast as possible while quiet testing goes on at the West end of the lake. If we have problems we may have to ask you to standby for a little while. We can all cooperate and graduate! The sooner we get it set, the sooner the noisy folks can do their testing. Jack
