  • THUNDER ON THE GRAND August 14-15, 2010

THUNDER ON THE GRAND IS BACK!
14-15 August 2010 in Dunnville Ontario.

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Canadian Boating Federation entry fees are $25. for first and second class each, .60 cents for each entry after 2!
J Class .60 cents per entry!

Both APBA and CBF sanctions are approved now and available online.

There will be a live band from 4m to 9m playing in the spectator area with a beer tent on both days.
Camping is beside the hot pits and free. No services so bring lots of drinking water.
The camping area and the hot pits are completely separate at this site but right beside each other. Absolutely no campers, tow vehicles or camping of any kind will be allowed in the hot pit area.
There just isn't enough room within the hot pits.
As we are camped right beside the hot pits security is no problem overnight. The town is completly fencing off the hot pits for us.

This site is located almost in the heart of town and within walking distance to stores, restaurants etc...
Since the last race there in 2000 the boat launch and dock have been rebuilt and the facility is in perfect shape for this regatta.

You can register online by contacting riverrat04@hotmail.com and you'll receive instructions on how to sign up and pay via paypal.

Check the sanctions for classes running, registration and drivers meeting times etc...

This should be a great event with many spectators on a race course with over 60 years of tradition in boat racing.

how do you get across boarder pass port

To get over the border you will either need a passport or an enhanced drivers license. I must stress that as long as you have this documentation and answer the guard's questions truthfully then going over and back is easy with most guards entrigued, rather than skeptical. So I hope to see as many American racers as possible since we love weeing you all up here.

A passport is likely easiest and simplest. But there are a couple other forms of special ID that work I believe. I use a passport and it's usally a breeze going back and forth.

          Here is some info:
          http://www.consular.canada.usembassy..._to_canada.asp

We have USA drivers at every one of our races, and every race has been APBA sanctioned... so can't be too complex or expensive an obstical.

We are expecting several American teams at this race.

          Hope to see ya here!
