  • Helmet cam info?

We are looking into getting a helmet cam. What's our best bet of one to get. I'd like to get a really good one that'll last a while. I'd like to get a kit if possible. (mounting accessories, etc) Are they easy to mount? Do they come undone easily? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Get the GoPro that is advertised on our homepage for HR. They are rugged, have a wide lense and all the accessories that you need.Easy to work also. Widely used by the limiteds, unlimiteds and outboards as far as I know.

Need to add that you need to make sure the helmet cam has not been out lawed in your area. Some groups, with no data, have ban the use of "helmet Cams" saying they are not safe.

What kind of Data are you asking for? a broken neck? Frankly I would not wear one on my helmet nor would I let my driver mount one on the their helmet. mount it somewhere else just not on the helmet.

Thanks big time. I'll check it out. No outlaw for it in NBRA as far as I know. Hell, if I was that worried about injury I wouldn't be driving a boat. Does a helmet cam REALLY make it THAT much more unsafe than it is in general? I plan to use it for Motocross as well. Probably anything I can attach it to. Any specific model I should look for?

I think it is all the same model. I know they are water proof. You can use them for all sports that I know of. They were very helpful when we got ours

              John,

I would recommend the GoPro which seems to be the most popular and widely used on the market today. There are hundreds if not thousand of videos on the net showing both the quality and durability of the product.

                Contact Josh

Contact Josh Kimble. He knows one that works. It is the same one that Proprider has been positng videos from Hillsdale MI race and Springfield lake.

I mounted it to my helmet at Hillsdale too, but pushed the wrong dang button to turn it to video, ended up with a few stills is all. Great little unit, very hassle free, easy to use. If Josh was able to explain how to work it to me.... anyone can use this technology. I do think they could make the buttons a little bigger for my fingers though... heehhehe.

I believe his handle on here is Jkimble. he will be at DePue later this week.

                  GoPro

                  GoPro likes and dislikes:
                  Likes:
                  1.) Cheap
2.) Good video quality for the price
                  3.) Waterproof
4.) Easy to download videos from camera to computer
5.) Comes with lots of mounting hardware

                  Dislikes:
1.) Poor audio quality thru the waterproof case.
2.) The camera shape needs to be much more streamlined.
3.) A difficult to understand LCD display.
4.) Mine quit working on month 13 of it's 12 month warranty
5.) The included mounts are not rubust enough. Vibration and jolts will move the camera out of position.
