I REALLY hope that I can. Been too long since Ive been on the water with ya Mr. Rick. We always have a good battle atleast once during a race weekend we are both at.
Alan,
What NBRA class can we run our APBA "350" (B Mod) Yamato hydro and what is the weight for the Yamato? What are the other engines will we race against and the weights?
Your B Mod will race in B Hydro. The class weights are Merc/ Mariner 25XS (420lbs), Merc 25SS, 200, OMC 22ci, Yamato 80 Mod (all at 385lbs), Hot Rod B, and Sidewinder 20 (both at 365lbs). Hope this helps. Your 302 Mod hydro will have 2 classes to run. C Mod. Hydro and Mod. 25 Hydro.
Bob, Hope you can make it, We have not had the Bmod class in a while because there just has not been any show up at the NBRA races. It takes 3 for a legal race and 5 for a championship. The way this is in the rule book is that 5 legal boats must cross the line in either heat. If 3 cross the first heat and 5 cross the second it is a legal championship. Like John said the 302 Mod can run in two classes Mod 25 and C Mod, Cmod in the Yamato's has a restriction for 1 tooth off gear and expansion chamber. Mod 25 allows open exhaust and any gear ratio also.
Alan
Kevin you mean to tell me that you only weigh in at 490?? in the E/R no wonder I cant beat ya that extra 120# I carry must be it LOL Guess i need to tell Patsy to quit feeding me
We will be there with a D stock hydro, C MOD hydro, maybe an E and will have 2 merc 20 cu inch engines and a 22 cubic in mercs to run on a hydro. Wishing all a safe trip to the race site. Let the party begin and the outstanding folks that run in NBRA will again provide for outstanding freindship and great racing. See you all there from the Louisiana racing side of the house.
Can someone give me a quick break down of the difference between APBA DSR and NBRA DR? What sort of turn outs do you expect for DR? What does it take to join NBRA?

The above website will help understand NBRA classes and rules. The cost to join NBRA is $80.00 for the year and $45.00 for a single event. The year is the best way to go. Race date is July 31st and August 1st with testing Thursday and Friday.
Josh the DSR is our D runabout. It will run with the Tohatsu (stock), 40 cu mod mercs and the 44XS (stock) with weight of 490. For the nationals you have to buy a full membership from NBRA. There will be at least 10 D Runabouts there. The cost is $80 as Alan said and $35 for novice. Testing is free.

NBRA rules; 22 omc formally called B-1 has a weight of 420lbs in the on line rule book, but my 2006 rule book has the weight at 365lb. We would need to add 50lbs to run that class. The omc has died under that weight restriction. It(omc 22) has not been in a NBRA race in 5 years.
