  • Let It Shine

I have a nice shiney 302 tower housing, but everytime I race it, it starts to get funky looking...So, I have to polish it after every race.

Anyone know something I can put on it to stop the oxidation?
    Wax doesn't work.

Have you tried Mothers mag wax, works well on Aluminum wheels to keep them from oxidizing !

After everyday of racing, I spray off all oil/fuel with Berkebile 2+2 carb cleaner, it evaporates really well and leaves no residue. Then I hit it quick with regular Mothers after every day and buff off black polish residue with a microfiber towel. You could wax it but everytime we polish they just get brighter and brighter. All of our towers are like mirrors after this regular cleaning/polishing... 5 minutes a day, darn near chrome towers, "WOW" when we hit the water, PRICELESS! GL

Yup, I use Mothers too, but even after just one heat of racing, I get water spots and cloudyness. I can get a good shine with the Mothers but I lose it VERY quickly. I've tried wax over it, but doesn't seem to help much.
I was just wondering if there was something else I could put on it after the Mothers, that would keep the shine a little better.

I know it doesn't make me any faster, but I sure like the way it looks.

I'll try the carb cleaner too, thanks for the tip...

I would listen to Greg's advice. His need for clean shows up in how amazing all of his stuff looks. And for polish, you should try whatever he uses on his head. That stuff is crazy good!!!

Is his head as glossy as Jack's sterling reputation?
