  • ss45 sparkplugs??

    alright guys,,,heres the deal,,,ive got a friend who has an ss45 engine and hes using ql77jc4 champion spark plugs in his engine and he seems to cant get to run hi RPM's,,,,i told him to change the spark plugs but he wont listen,,,,i use b9hs ngk in my 45,,,,but he insists to stay with these champions,,,what do you guys think is best for these motors to run with as far as spark plugs go??

    I don't think its the spark plugs. Either the Champion or NGK should work fine. It might be electrical or timing. There are a number of things to look at...coils, power pack, stator, timer base and the actual timing. Oh yeah, don't forget the rectifier. Since you are at sea level, try experimenting with high speed jets. It sounds like you may be too rich if it isn't electrical. Those are a few starters before you go looking into the power head itself.

        sounds like hes got alot to think about,,,i dont know the rpm's yet,,,as soon as i get it,,,ill bring the answer here,,,,we have races on sunday so ill try to get them eairler than that..
