                Guess at controversy:

                They did not know how to measure the bridge deck dimension due to the top deck curve?

                Was this boat an early Selvidge and did it preceed Austins wide nosed duckbill models?

                  The hull is a Blimp Craft (Reins) which evolved from Price Crafts.

                  The controversy was Vacuum Relief Hull. The rule book was changed that winter to disallow vaccum relief on runabouts.

                    Vacuum Relief

                    This picture shows the vacuum relief holes in the bow. This relieved the vacuum in the cockpit.

                        Lets see I think I gained 0.0000001 miles per hour. On a really long course it would make a difference. It kept my balls cool and it made the SORC nervous and the inspector upset.
