  • J on plane issue

At Burlington this weekend we had 7 JH's and 4 JR's and did not have any getting on plane issues. We had experienced driver's/teams and rookies out there and they all got going relatively easily.

How did the J's do at Franklin?

It's no coincidence the J's plane better now that the minimum height is now lowered to 1" 3/4....................

Perhaps we should lower the 20ssh's also and they would plane better and pump more water. After all arn't Yamato 80's just jumbo J's at the end of the day. (Don't let Mikey or Big Don see this post!)

We really didn't have any planing issues with J at Franklin.

One of the Hearn JH rigs did struggle. Other J's were good.

What was your total boat count there, Bill?

Although we only just started our JH program last year, we never had a problem getting on plane. I did notice, however, that this year the boat pops right up; probably within 50-100 feet or so after starting the engine.

            All good here

Region 10 has had mch better luck getting on plane with the J's this year. As previously stated, I'm sure the new lower height is helping with it.

I'd like to ask a semi-related question: The reason for dropping height was twofold, first to aid planing, and second to attempt to slow down the boats a little. Have we seen a noticible drop in speed with the lower heights?

The talk last weekend was that the drop in height and the 10 lbs might be about .3 MPH
