Penny. Thoughts and prayers are with you for Howards speedy recovery. Tell him to keep the faith as he has more racing to do here with us. Hoping to see you both in Depue.

I just got a text from Susan saying Howard was alert, but he is pissed that the breathing tube is still in place and he cannot talk.

            Wow

What a change. He is a medical miracle at the moment. He is up and reading his book (well, supervised anyway because they untied his hands to read....) he is trying to get in some breathing on his own so they can remove the ventilator and yell at the nurses. Fiesty as ever but he is showing so much improvement. He even wrote the nurse a note last night telling her he couldn't hear (the tv). Things are looking good....more to come.

                          Resting comfortably

Howard is now out of ICU after 11 days. He is at Steven's Hospital in Edmonds room 810. I believe he will be there probably through this week. We will know more later as he progresses. Probably some physical therapy after that......but this is definitely the biggest step yet.
