  • Jason Seather race in peace

sad news from region 10 today as we have lost a good friend and racer Jason Seather.
Jason loved racing, mainly the C stock classes and was a "hired gun" for the C service class last year, he also was an outstanding member in S.O.A. always there for whatever volunteer job was handed to him, never *****ed just smiled and said yes, no problem.

miss you bud, race in peace........

            What a loss

Words cannot express the sadness felt by so many today....Jason was a class act, a true boat racer and always gave his all for the club, the members and anyone that crossed his path. He is deeply missed and always remembered.

Remembering the fun times with Jason

Jason was APBA's stock outboard Rookie of the Year in 2008. Jason found us as racers at our Wooden Boat Show display in 07, and took his first ride at "New Folks in Boats" at Capitol Lake a few weeks later. Like so many of us, the one ride got him hooked and he started racing with APBA and SOA in 2008.

After his rookie year in 20SSH/CSH, he branched into CSR for 2008; and even got a little oily running C Service Runabout. As you can see from the picture below, he learned early on the hazards of the occasional "self removing flywheel" that Speeditwins have been known to have.

As others have mentioned, he was the kind of guy who would do anything for a friend or another racer, and was always helping where he could. I pray that somehow he will find the peace and comfort he was searching for so much in his life with us. We miss you, Jason.

Just heard the sad news. Jason was a heck of a dude.

His first race at Heart Lake, he pitted near us so we helped him out all day. He was so excited to be racing. Sunday, he shows up with a case of beer and smoked salmon for us for helping out.

                  RIP.....

We will all miss Jason tremendously and enjoyed the time with him as he became part of our SOA family. He left his mark on us and we shall never forget him.

                        What a great guy

In my opinion the way a man's life is judged (and the way I hope mine is judged) is by his affect on others. My life and those of all Jason touched, is far richer for having had him in it.

I was especially fortunate to be there for some great events. I was able to award Jason his Rookie of the Year jacket at an SOA meeting and see that great smile. I was also there in Milwaukie OR last year to see him achieve his ultimate racing goal of beating the Mike's, the Kyle's, the Nilsens (not sure EXACTLY who was entered) and the other young dumb guns we have out here in a heat of Yamato hydro. Man was he proud of himself, and man was I proud of him. Even though he came to this sport a little later in life, he was still a hard charger. He also built the dog house on the Evil Streak, and it has never blown over since.

I'll echo what Pat said, I hope you found the peace you were seeking my friend, and thank you for being an all to brief part of my life.

                            Sorry for your loss.
He was obviously a very lucky guy to have had such good people as friends.

                              RIP Jason

I was more then stunned when I got the phone call that Jason was no longer with us...He was honestly a good and genuine person...always willing to help you with a smile. Heck....he beat me in DSH at Newburg last year....and came over and had kind words for me.....what a class act. Something like this sure makes you appreciate the friends you have around you, and the time you are able to spend with them. Hope you find peace Jason...you will be missed.
