I am looking for a source to buy a rotten rock sanding block from for my runabout bottoms. Does anybody have one they could pass on to me? I need one asap. Thanks.
This same material is used by restaurants to clean grills, and can also usually be found at restaurant supply houses if you would have one close to you.
The item you are looking for is made by Pittsburg-corning. It is used for cold storage wall and ceiling insulation. Industrial insulation distributors should be able to get it for you. I usually get 4" thick 24"x24" blocks. You will probably have to take a case of 6 or 8 pieces, but that is no problem as you will recoup all your money at the first race as they will sell quickly.
Is this the same thing as a stink block? I have something similar to what you are describing but it smells horrible. What is the point of it? do you rub it on the bottom of the boat?
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
That would be great Tim. Let me know. I have sent some inquiries to a few places, but have not heard anything back yet. Foamglas is what the material is called.
