I caught my 44xs on fire last year just before the Top O marathon. I was testing a new prop and we put the boat in the water and I jumped in, hooked up my kill switch, choked the motor and primed my squeeze ball and give the old gal a rip....thats when I found out my plug wires werent on, As the flames started coming up thru the hood vents on the top of the 44 cowling. I had 4 guys in the water in a flash and we put it out just by splashing with or hands. BTW....we put some black tape on a couple of wires and I went out and ran the fastest gps speed I have ever seen! Now I just need a new boat!!
