Spring has arrived , hopefully, so heres what i ask. Do you have an annoying neighbor?? you now the kind, the ones that have you loosing sleep over because they come home on friday and saturday around 2 or 2:30 am after the bars close, and continue the partying under your bedroom window in there back yard? Well here is the solution to all your problems. ( this is what I do) after the neighbors stay up till 4 or 5 am drinking and carrying on till all hours, let them get a couple of good hours of sleep, just enough that they will have a really good hangover, lets say 8 or 8:30 (depending on what time the noise quit) then bring out your mecury, A 44 works good but a 60 cube works even better, just slightly modified with a good bayer or hustler exhaust, if you have a old quincy or obrien they work good too, aim the rear of the enging towards the annoining neghibors bedroom window and start the engine, just a burp or 2 usually wakes them but to really give them the full effect of the hangover they are about to experience, and what a great and wonderfull neighbor that you or I are, restart the mecury and tach it slightly, lets say 5 grand and a few raps to 7 or 8 this usually works, O yea dont forget to hook up the water hose so you dont get a overheated engine, this will usually quiet down the annoying neighbor after 2 or 3 weeks, This is a tried and proven method that really works, Now what shall I do with the vacant house next door, the owners cant seem to keep it rented out, I dont know why I am a good neighbor

I know what you mean!
Jeff,
Been there and done that! We had a neighbor once that had a dog that would bark all hours of the night. So... another neighbor of mine raced offshore boats and one night he and I were finishing up putting his two engines together. By the time we got done and were ready to run them it was about 12:30am. He says to me that he would like to run them so that he could get the timing set before he left that morning for his next race. Right about then this dog started barking again and I looked at him and said "I'll get the hose". He looked at me and grinned. These engines were 509ci Chevrolet's and they idled at 2000 rpm! They also had open headers and dry exhaust, let's just say they were LOUD! The next day the neighbor with the dog, started putting the dog in the garage at night. So Jeff your theory does work.Gardner Miller
