What kinds of wood are used in the boat construction?

2 tanks come in 7 gallons of gasoline, that amount of gasoline is for the regatta Guayaquil-Vinces..

My friend Pancho uses oak wood, Oak wood is strong and lightweight; the boat with full equipment and tank can weigh 110 to 115 pounds

I remember the days before epoxy, masking off the under side of the deck where it is to be glued & sealing with polyurthane.

                  Nelson,
Are you sure it is Oak, Oak is very strong, but not light weight!

                  Nelson,

In the United States Oak is strong but very heavy

                            (Pancho Lainez-Teresa Lainez-Silvia Lainez)

                              Boat in Ecuador

                              Nelson

Facinating clips on the construction. Very nice work for the conditions and the tools used.

Is that glue the Weldwood Resorcenil 2 part product used in plywood lamination?

What type of plywood is being used?

Is the hard wood used some type of local mahohany?

Why are there carved multiple steps on the left non trip side? Seems that would be used on the right non trip for left turns or are different turns used in Ecuador

                              Thank you

                              Peter
