It has a memory for highest speed meausured in tenths of a MPH. I dont actually look at it while driving, just look at the "highest speed" display when I come in.

If you need to look at it while driving the display is kinda small.

I second the garmin etrex, we use them and you cant tear them up. They are the best for the money!

the velocitek has a very large display with numbers about 1.25 inches tall...it can easily be read while driving and testing. You can also download each run to see not only your top speed but ALSO your speed through the corners. I have not looked for a while but I think the cost is around $300. Not cheap but it is a very good product...go to www.velocitek.com for more info.
