  • 2010 NBRA National Championships

The ODA is proud to present the 2010 NBRA National Championships held on Raccoon Lake, Centrailia, IL July 31st-August 1st. We will have 2 days of testing on July 29-30. $4,500 prize and tow $$$$ and one of the best places to race in the country!!!! We will be running ASH and Runabout with APBA rules for a championship. The hotels are all very close to the race course and the pits are a nice gravel parking lot with a brand new ramp for launching. There will be a drivers and crew party Sat. night which is always a great time. NBRA has classes for basically all APBA motors and boats both stock and mod. This is one race that shouldn't be missed!!!!!!

This is one of my favorite race sites to go to. Centralia is filled with so many great people. I think half the town, if not more, come out and make it a day at the races. They even come out to watch the testing. It's great!! The last couple of years, we have left with our tow money in our hand, which helped us to get back home! Oh, and don't forget about the vendors! Food is EVERYWHERE! I can't wait to see everyone again.

      how does one join....

....sounds like more fun than most apba races. How does one join and be qualified to play ? Can an apba member take part ? I recall the Louisianna winter race a few years back when it was conducted as a joint event.Any chance of that ??

        Nbra

NBRA membership is $85.00. Entry fee per class at Nats. has been $25.00 per class. I assume it will be the same again. You can join at the race site. Dogone reasonable compared to the fees we paid at APBA races we attended. Ck. out our website if you want to join early. We are a Hydro Racer Sponsor just click on the sidebar.

          Beer garden

In the past there is a beer garden on the point that spectators gather at. And some of the best bbq you can taste. Oh and don't forget, the Mac Attack fan club !! A bunch of folks come to watch and cheer Kevin on, it is a wild good time. They even have their own section roped off so they can watch and cheer.

I am working on getting a fan club going, but so far all i can do is tag along with Kevin in hopes of stealing away some of his fans !!!

A good runabout could break all that stuff up, Maybe we could get Bobby Laws and his pink runabout to come over and do that for us, that way we could start racing much sooner

                Centralia

Here is the picture of the main office, there is also sidewalks and a ramp up to it covered in snow, we have a permanent power panel down at the pits and a new 800 amp service just behind the building. We should have plenty of power for campers, they hope to develope a campground some day. Also a pic of the main lake, we worked over all of the front bank area re shaping and cleaning up. All will look better come summer.

Bob Laws is ready to go boat racing. Should I call him?

                          Wow

When I was there last summer I was wishing for some snow !!!! I didn't think you guys accumulated any snow !

Alan, you do a great job for boat racing, your efforts are appreciated. You should put seminars on how to promote and conduct a race !

Might have to call it Owen park! Just joking! This was funded by a grant that was applied for back after the first race in 04 and set on our Governors desk until after he was asked to leave. Things started getting done again after that for some reason so the City got the Money and we bid it and were low bid. It was over budget so we negotiated and got it done. We still have some cleaning up to do in the Spring.

If you want to thaw out the lake fast, give 1-800-GLOBAL WARMING a call!! If that don't work, maybe send Al Gore $1000.
