    Huh?????????????

not be sound odd, but isnt that why we have an admin department??? Do the other categories have to pay every time a rule or item is changed? If so, STOCK must have a ton of money invested in it!!!!! Tell ya what............if so needed, "if" the rule was changed back to the LETTER designations, I would volunteer my time and effort to change the designations each place in the rule book and tech manual!!!!!!!!!! Be it the changes would not go into effect until the 2011 season, that is plenty of time to make the changes..........

      Legalize it!

legalize the Tohatsu in Dmod, using the current specs noted in the rule book and tech manual..............of course, the motion would have to pass the commission and on to the members to vote.............the commission will have plenty of data from the 09 race season to injest at the meeting to justify the motor being allowed in the class........

Janet Stoy has kindly done the Mod rulebook revisions for no charge the past few years, including a major clean up a couple years ago.

Its not that much work, I'm sure I could do it an an evening or two.

Class names like "super stock" are nuts

Who in heck are you talkin to? The folks I talk to refer to A, B, and D. Other folks wonder why we just don't stick with cubic inch parameters for those "A" "B" "C" "D" classes. Fugget-aboudt CC's... that's some Your-Oh-pee-on thing for when we're racin Your-oh-peeon's. They, after all, have accepted the METRIC system as a way to simplify their lives. Not US. Nope... we're SAE, and proud of it. Gimmee that 9/16 wrench will ya! We had a chance to set things to a metric standard in 1970 but we blew that because we thought a 50 mph speed limit would solve our ills. CRAP.

Names like 25 "super stock" are nutty. Taken from the auto drag racing scene, which has undergone tumultous change, I would suspect? What the heck is Super about a 25XS? Nothing, except its cubic inch disp didn't set well in the 'old' B (aka 20 cu in class). So!! Shove the restrictor back in!

What the spectator folks don't relate to is 3 or 4 boat classes. Whatever you want to call them... the spectator folks think they are B O R I N G. Especially when they don't make much noise and get all spread out.

Just my 2 cents on a cold freaking snowy day while I still need to go out an plow.

See you in Seattle, I would hope. Meet me at the bar. Call me a an ignorant SOB if you feel like it. I'll just consider the source and enjoy the TV. I've been antagonized by professionals, so be ready.

Are you thinking of making a proposal to this affect ? I was more or less joking about changing it now, but would back a proposal for letters. I doubt the comish would back it though... just saying.
Since I have not seen an agenda, or heard form anyone, i am assuming the Mod meeting has no proposals on it, and the meeting will not be needed. So maybe this one will keep them going for an hour or so.

At this point I'm only good for one proposal a year which I've already made.
Although the thought of Daren going through every page in the rule book and tech sheets and making the needed changes is tempting.

                        Really???

                        Sam,

I hate to disagree but Janet Stoy did not do the technical manual changes and rule book changes. I have been the Tech Chairman of Modified Outboard since 1997 and Mary and I have made all the technical changes in the rule book and tech manual since then. Oh there have been people who have volunteered to help but when the deadline hits, Mary and I have met the deadline.

PS - You may not have noticed but Modified Outboard was the first category to have the 2010 Tech Manual on line.

And number 2, the letter- cc change is not a simple cut and paste and you must read each sentence and determine "are you discussing a class or an engine."

                        Regards,
                        Jeff

I stand corrected. I was certain I heard Dave say he asked Janet to do it.

As far as not being the most simple cut out each mention of cc's ... I realized that, that's why I didn't say it could be done in an hour or two ... I was giving myself 8 to 10 hours

UhOHH... maybe we did adopt the metric system afterall... I'm reading it right here "James B. Beam Distilling Co, 1.75 liters" but, anybody down in Hazard Kentucky will tell you it's "Class A". things are worse than I thought in the 'cc' department.

But, cc's aside, the Mod Inspection Manual and the Permissible Modifications & Retrictions sheets are a nice piece of work.

"I think there should be a minimum weight for the formula E class... Or a capsule
                                Before some one dies.."
This is an opinion based on zero facts! In 2008 I competed in thirteen 850H races. In those races I nor anyone else was involved in an incident. I can not say the same for any other class that I have raced since "J" sixteen years ago. Speed does not hurt people, incidents do. Why would adding weight help safety?
I may be wrong, but the last time that I can recall somone being seriously injured was six years ago with Ken Resado. (his boat was very heavy and making it weigh more would not have helped)
