  • What is on the MOD agenda?

Dear Mr. Tom Sutherland Sir. I was wondering what might be on the MOD
agenda for the National Meeting. I read the SO agenda and was hoping to maybe see something like that for MOD. I plan on being at the meetings and
I was looking for a heads up.

    Thank you

How about how all Sidewinders are illegal in MOD because they will not meet the "replacement part" dimension for the rotary valve timing???

Tohatsu in D. I know Darren has been working to get that legal. After clarifying what they are looking for (no motor mods) and a full season of running against them I for one "Fear no Tohatsu" and welcome them with open arms. 50-R

        Me Too

I would like to receive the agenda to make certain a proposal I made is there.

One thing I will bet, is the agenda might not be as long as the stock category, and the meeting won't take 6 months and a day to get through it all.

          Fah..................

Talked to Ron France the other night and we were 'conversating' (Southern thing) about getting the OMC closer to STOCK configuration to attract more participants. With the upcoming changing of the guard soon in the Stock Outboard division in the A Class.........(one of these days), it seems a good idea for the Mod Commission to do things to allow the FAH/FAR classes to be more user friendly for the OMC 15.

For example, run the stock tuning pipe!! Sorry Fred and Mikey!

            Yes

Run the stock tuner at stock length. Mikey does. Of course, if it is NLA there will be a problem finding enough - a lot of the FAs have converted their pipes. But in Matt's scenario there will be plenty of stock OMCs to donate their pipes.

We can also run a few other stock items to make this class more user friendly without sacrificing performance. Ron France and I had a list a couple of years ago. The MORC turned us down, however. I'll see if I can find that old list.?

If the safety cert rules stay the same as published... You'll see our team in FAH/FAR instead of ASH/ASR. Many of us up hear have already talked about it... gentelmens agreement to just run our stock stuff in FAH/R.

                FA rules

There are no rules that I can think of that would make a stock OMC illegal in the mod classes. Fred alludes to some rules that by keeping stock would make them faster. If that is the case, what is the harm in leaving everything alone as is? If someone has an engine recipe that in stock form is faster than one that is carved up so be it. Everyone can run their equipement as it stands now and be legal. If we went back on rules, how many engines would then be eliminated? I know that some people think of modified as the dumping ground for useless stock equipement. If that is the case fine, but when you come to the dump, the choice can be yours to run the OMC as stock or to the current rules.

                Just some thoughts.

                  MOD Class Names

Please change them back! Pretty please???

I can't keep them straight and I am tired of John Sharp correcting me.

I agree with Ed. No one can keep the class designation straight. Even the folks at registration have trouble. We accomplished NOTHING by switching to what is used/misused now. By changing back, at least the racers maybe could get it right. Jack

Nobody here is even using the current class names.

please change back to A,B, C etc.

while I completely agree with Ed (could this be the first time???), the change back went to the members to vote on and they still prefer the CC designations.................guess they do not think about the scorers? Heck, most regions still call out the letter designations during roll call...........

I always forget myself but I have discovered that when I talk to others, without a boat race history, they understand cc designation. A, B, C means nothing to them. It is good for others to understand.

                            A,b,c.

Change it back. It was A,B,C,D,E, when the MOD Div. began in APBA in 1972 An before that in NOA AMPRO. I Don't see where it helped the Pro Div. so why does MOD. need it.

The people who voted for this do not score, run races or Referee (mostly).

                              CHANGE IT BACK!
