Mike: I have attended every APBA annual meeting for the last 22 years. Test data sometimes is helpful and sometimes it is not. It is ususally very difficult for the SORC to get because of the fact that this is a membership-run organization and no one is being paid to do this. Even when the SORC is presented with data, it doesn't always carry the day since some of the things that any SO racer who has been around for a while knows, cannot be measured with data.

Nevertheless, I agree with your general statement that data is very helpful. Any one who wants the SORC to act on a proposal that person makes is more likely to have their proposal approved based upon the quality of the presentation, the thoroughness of it and the information that is included. The less information that is included, the more likely it is that the SORC will not be able to make a decision and the proposal will fail. This is not always true. But in the last 22 years, I think that it holds well for a general statement.

Well, well, well(rolling up my sleeves), I think you are...................right, about what I don't know, but your right.

But Seriously, the 15ci. that puppy was rolling the last time I looked. So the introduction was a little bumpy, but did the sport suffer any from it. No offense, but the first two racers of the 15ci were not the fastest guys in those classes before they bought a Sidewinder. Once the stats and data are discussed at the National Meeting I am sure the fate will inevitably be much different, in a positive way, for the 20ci. Everyone learned something from the 15ci, not just Racing Outboards marketing department.

YOU ARE WAY OFF BASE BUDDY!!! LOL!

It will be an interesting conversation at the meeting, however, once the evidence is presented and the commissioners see the big picture of what actually is the only best option for the placement of the 20ci and the SW"A" than will this sport have the chance of surviving another decade or two the way we know it and like it.

That marketing comment was a very specific one and was only intended for the 20ci issue not 3 year old 15ci nonsense.

Oh yea as for that 25 nationally thing, that goes directly against the attitude of sustainability ie 25ssr. Thank god we kept that class going for a couple of years, it brought back a whole 7, real Mercury's NATIONALLY. However, we would have no where to place the 20ci in runabouts.

No need to roll up your sleeves, I've seen those arms. Listen keep at it, I want Mr. Allen to know that I'm willing to argue with people from the east coast as well and that I'm not on the Racing Outboards payroll such as youself.

        Peace brother!

I believe the SW20 will more closely race as the Y80 performs. I don't see the harm in allowing the SD20 as long as there is a parity committee observing results. Here in Region 10, I'm not sure it matters if your exchanging paint with a Y80, Y302, SD20 ..... it will be a FUN run to and through the first turn.
Time will tell. I believe parity is very difficult to achieve especially in a member driven organization and to me parity = $$. The annual tweaking and adjusting necessary to keep multiple motors equal will ultimately hurt someone’s interest and not everyone has the resources to react and adjust.

I believe in a simplified and clear choice especially when a class already has a readily available production motor. By the time we're finished every class in S.O. will have 2, 3 or even 4 motors. I could very well be in the minority but to me the sport is starting to resemble a flea market.

If this multi-motor model is a product of the times than so is it but I still think each class needs a clear path and a preferred motor in which we can direct people to.

          Just my opinion.

Jeez..................where have you been!! Is it to late to replace Ed and make you the new Chairman! Maybe fatherhood is finally making you see clearly!

            Sorry Ed.
