    hi all,

    i have aquired a 55-h that is on the bench going under the wrench. it had wolff 19-n etched on the distributor. is mr wolff still around? does anyone know how i can reach him? i would like to get some background on the engine.

    i have restored a nice sidson this will be run/displayed on.

    Hum................

    That may be Eric Wolff from upstate NY. HE passed away about 20 years ago.

    He was a Marchetti guy who was very tough in DSH for years!

      thanks for replying. i think i have one of his d engines. the serial number is out of the range of the mark 55's. could the block been a replacement?

      i'm getting a 11'8 marchetti this spring that is supposed to be a dsh all wood deck.

          Black Block!!

          In the day the best D class blocks were the replacement 808-325 Black Blocks in the 800,000 series.

          These blocks had lower port timing but yet still had the top end to put the 55-H's out of the winners circle!

            the block is a replacement block. the number is 858677. that's iuin the range you posted. i was surprised how clean it is inside.

              At region 2 races in the 70's, if Eric was registered, the best you could hope for was 2nd.

              He was from Syracuse N.Y. ---Ran Inboards as well, 225's I believe. Another tough boat to beat with Eric driving "The Pride of Syracuse"
