Dan Kirts, a multi time World and National Pro Champion, from Elkhart, Indiana ran H-4. Usually with a Schumacher Hydro and Konig power but he also raced with a Yamato and Quincy. Dan retired some years ago but this past summer he tested a new 350cc Rossi at the U.S. Title Series race at Constantine, Michigan and turned some impressive lap times.

Dan's son Jim, also a Pro Division Champion, currently competes in 350 and 500cc Pro Classes and his nephew, Tom Kirts, Jr., has recently returned to the sport driving a 500cc Pro Runabout. Lowell Schumached is still building Pro racing boats.

I don't know anything about the hydro with 500cc on the cowl.

Should have just asked....

The H-4 boat was designed and built by Larry Honneyman and Chris Schurilla. Chris let Danny run it for a year or two. Danny won a bunch of races with it.

The second one is a Bezoat 500cch built by Shannon for Chris's dad Ron Schurrilla. It was run at the Worlds in 1993 by an Englishman. Can't remember the name....

Chris was living in Wallingford and packed up and moved out West. Just left the two boats behind.

Yes. The H-4 boat did belong to my father. Mike is right on the money with his info. It was a very fast 250 cc boat in which my father won lots of races with. The other boat was not his, however, I would like to find his 500 schumacher that he set the kilo with at 121+ mph. I would love to have all of his boats back. My wife states she would give you 250.00 for the H-4 boat shown.

Jim I would love to see the H-4 stay in the family. I feel that you mite be the best one to take good care of it. Only you can come and get it for $250. Your wife drives a hard bargain.
