    Where can a guy find spruce lumber?

    I'm thinking of building a boat and am wondering where to get spruce lumber for the spars. Any suggestions?

    Spruce!

    LL Johnson in Charlotte Michigan is one source. Pricey, but I think on par with prices I've seen elsewhere.

      I use No 1 white wood (spruce) from local yards. I select boards with very straight grain and the No.1 grade has very few and small knots. It's not sitka but very adaquate when combined with epoxy and plywood and the price is right.
