  • ASH ASR - FAH FAR (200cc)

Hey, It has been a long time since I check the books on the difference on the Stock to Mod for these classes, but with only a few entries in FAR and not many more in FAH this past year I was wondering if there was anyone talking about adding the Sindwinder A in stock form to the line up of engines?

What is the speed difference in FAH/R to ASH/R?

    Hi Graham,

I haven't heard that idea before myself -- that's not saying much -- but I think people's reaction to it might partly depend on their point of view regarding single-engine vs. multi-engine classes. One plausible scenario would be for an A Stock class with a single, dominant engine (Sidewinder) and at the same time a renewed interest in the 200cc Mod class thanks to the influx of available OMC engines.

It seems like that would create a good competitive landscape and logical, marketable classes for both categories.

I believe the speed difference between ASR/ASH and FAR/FAH has been about 2 to 3 mph, historically.

I agree with Mike, FAR & FAH may see an increase in participation depending on what happens in Stock with the A class. It makes sense… it would be a place for the OMC to go race competitively if the Sidewinder is faster than the OMC’s with some of the modification that are allowed in MOD.

        Growth for Mod!!!

I agree with Mike. There is a lot potential growth for the modified catagory over the next few years due to the changes that are in progress in the stock catagory.

Make sense - And with the recert rules on cut suits for 2010 season, i'm looking at running my stocker in FAH/R pending the out come of the Jan Meetings.
