Two of us raced, me and Bob Williams. Bob did use a complete outfit of the person who was race director. We took a 302 with us as luggage in 3 different suit cases. I raced it on a borrowed boat and sold the motor so we didn't have to bring it back. The boat I used was built from my plans, but they screwed up & put a double chine on the left & single on the riight. It really didn't mater for the race, but testing I was always making right hand turns. That boat may be available to use if it didn't go to someone in the "Standard" class. Just make sure the gas tank in the boat is clean inside, that's why I didn't finish.

There my be other boats available that may need some hardare items. Down there they can't just call Alan Brown or Steve Greaves for hardware. If you go, plan spending several days before the race getting every thing ready to race. There is always something you need that is hard to find. It is good to take floor board padding with you also.

          Welcome

Nelson - Welcome to Hydroracer.net. We have been enjoying your videos. From what you are saying. It sounds like your making an invitation for an american racer to come down to race in your March 2010 race? You are saying you have 2 boats and 1 Yamato 302 engine that can be loaned out to someone that wants to race?

Sounds like a challenge for an American to go race this 80 mile marathon race. Any takers here on Hydroracer.net ???

If anyone takes Nelson up on the offer, give me a call. I will let you know what we learned down there, both racing & just getting around.
It will be the experience of a life time.

                      Darrell -

If Adam was a older and not in school it sure would be cool to go down. Maybe we could all pitch in and send Terry Kerr to go down and kick some butt. I went to Nelsons web site and all his pictures can be seen there from last years winners. The two boats he is talking about are in some of the pictures. Here is one of them.
