  • Columbiaville Races

I was just wondering what happened? Did the guys not like going there, was there to much hastle with Genesee county, just why did that race site die? I know that as soon as the stock outboard stopped going there, it has shut down completely, no entrance to the park whatsoever. Could it be revived, and at what cost? I was a little guy when this happened so maybe some of the older guys could shed some light on the subject. It would be cool to see all of you race there again. By the way I have the sign saying "Boat Races->"
Ya know the the one that looked like a gum wrapper.

I'm only a couple miles away, and in my opinion the local people quit going to the races becouse they were racing something all the time. That and the county makes more money with all the activity on the lake with campers, pleasure boating, ect. That area of the lake shore is not kept-up, 3ft weeds, still see the ramp but it would require alot of prep work.

Haven't heard that town name in a long long time. I was just a little kid when we raced there. A lot of "Wild Ones" back then.

Columbiaville was put on by Belle Isle Outbard Club.

                Columbiaville Races

That was one of the nicest places to race here in Mich. The pits were not all that great but the water was great. Jimmy and I still go there to test at least 4-5 time a summer. Wish we could race there again.
