Where to begin?
Only can a boat racer from Ohio driving on the 495 outside of Boston, get passed by another boat racer from Ontario Canada! Yes, he did maintain his lane.
-Tent city was installed after 4pm and the racing carnies moved in! As you can see Jeff brought the comforts of home (trying to steal wi-fi so I can update all of you asap).
-Trudy Latter can be seen in a few pics, (the camping queen of Montreal)

Team Canada, Team USA, Miss Kingston (wondering what in the world she has got herself into) (Pee Wee and Brandt need a hand check), number of entrys, without a doubt the hardest working man in boat racing....Mr. Steve Noury with the mic and Alex Jr, pulling up the straps. LETS GO RACING BOYS!!

Candid shots from the beach... the next time anyone runs into Michael Young, remember to ask him about how he got lost at sea and had the coast guard with helicopters looking for him, JUST TWO DAYS BEFORE THIS RACE!

-Since Wayne Latter destroyed his Csh the weekend before, Jeff put him in his backup 25ssh with Wayne's C engine. Wayne did a great job learning to drive a Pavlick hydro!

There is a story behind the last picture. Last weekend Abby and Austin tested a JSH. Matthew Latter from Montreal Canada, stood by quietly watching. Not saying much just absorbing. Later he asked his dad (Wayne) if he could test someday. The interest was peaked by watching the girls. Jeff heard him ask the question and immediately Jeff said next weekend we will bring a boat for you to test. The following week while getting ready for this race Jeff realized that he would not be able to test (no testing on Friday). So he and I discussed it and we brought the rig, and a motor for Matthew to take home to use unconditionally. Get use to it, test see if you like it, race it if you want. The look on Matthew's face was hard to describe. I really don't think it sunk in until it was loaded on Uncle Brandt's trailer to take home Sunday morning. Matthew will test at Waterford, and I will be there to take pictures to share with everyone....

p/s this was our first RaceCraft boat (57-S), and we really feel that Ponch is looking down and smiling about the entire arrangement. For this is what the sport is about. (Ponch would have done the same in a heartbeat)

Race of the weekend.

Brian trying to explain his racing technique to Jeff. Racing was the best of the weekend between these two competitors racing for 2-US in 25ssh. The last two pictures tells anyone they are not ready to say it's over yet....turn in next week, same time, same bat channel..... I have some video of the races I will post soon.

The last race of the day in 25SSH, Brian came into the pits, and everyone started yelling for a prop puller. No one responded. I remembered Alan Akerstrom had one in his pits. I ran to his trailer and took it to those ready to help Brian pull the prop and get ready for heat two. Brian took 1st this race which came down to time. Really close, really clean racing. Later that night Billy Allen, tired of me complaining I never get enough seafood, invited the pits to drive to Boston and join him at "No-Names". OH MY the "chowda" was yummy....here are pics of the group who joined us. Billy, Lisa, Sharon & Alan Akerstrom, PeeWee & Carol Belanger, Line & Wayne Latter, Trudy & Brandt Latter and Brian Rossman.

Only in this sport can you go race your heart out for a championship then break bread with your best competitor hours later.....

ok one more story to tell. After dinner, we are walking out by the pier and we see a fishing boat. Billy goes on to tell the story that this is one of the boats that catches the seafood we just ate. Well, funny me, says "hey, anyone remember Titantic?" Jeff groans as I run to the boat, the look of fear is on Billy's face as I climb on board, jump to the front of the boat and do the pose. Pee Wee soon joins me ! In a shrilly voice, Billy is pleading with us to get down because the Boston Police are not so understanding about such innocent things..... the pics are not the best but you get the feeling of being there and throwing your arms open wide as the breeze blows thru your hair... AHHH New England,,, I just love it!

One more picture

Some things you see as you drive home,,,then rethink later did I really see that?

By the time we left the Akerstroms is was close to 2pm. We had hoped our new axle would have arrived to be installed, but it had not so we were driving home with caution. The axle was not an issue. About 35 miles from home, about 1230am Jeff says hey I lost my trailer lights on my drivers side. I look in the mirror and tell him the lights are ok on the right. He walks to the back of the trailer and slowly returns and sticks his head in the door "Your not gonna believe this one. Come here". Out the truck I fly and go look. The entire left side of the boat trailer is gone. It completely peeled off. So what is the best tool a boat racer has? DUCT TAPE..... we used it to completely cover the side until we got home. We arrived, unloaded the car, Jeff went into the garage and brought out a piece of plywood to cover the hole until we can redo it....sometime this week. Like we have time for this one!

What a weekend is right! Great 3rd Annual Kingston Fall Classic, kudo's to Steve Noury and all his volunteers for an exceptionally organized event. A great time was certainly had by all, unfortunately the weather on Sunday was not in our favour. Great pic's Christine, except for your trailer, I could not help myself from laughing, no kidding there was a problem with the lights!!!!!! I hope you did not lose any gear, especially Jeff's Skull cap, the only thing we could offer in short notice would be spare gills! We will talk later this week. Trudy & Brant

PS - I heard on last nights US news that there is a new billboard erected on an Interstate titled "Brewsters Racing Team" ..................

Ditto - sorry to hear about the trailer - but I'm sure the Brewster Team will have it repaired and ready to go for Waterford! Wish I was joining the group.............oh well.

There is something to be said .........for being greeted at "Tent City" by good friends and glass of wine ready for you!!!!! As always Bob and I had a great time!!!
