    Dave,
I have used System 3 for almost 30 years. You need to let the epoxy fully cure before applying varnish or some other finishes. Full cure is at least a week in our summer with 100 deg days. Much more in the cool NW.
My advice is go race the boat, do the finishing after the season is over, that way the boat will look great for 2010.

      Boat

I figured it out...the epoxy, while appearing dry, was still curing. I have not had this problem in the past, but it sanded out fine and I now have 2 coats ot spar varnish over it. I will take harware off after Lawrence and do a more complete sanding job and apply more finish. In the end, it turned out to be my fault. Racer Dave

          Dsh

It's not that simple Darren. In the past, I have been able to re-coat epoxy within 24 hours....the brand does not seem to matter. I have used epoxy for over 20 years, and have never had this problem. I have had issues with epoxy not curing in cold weather, or curing too fast, like what I experienced a few weeks ago. On a diff. matter....who are we expecting for DSh this weekend? I count myself, you, Gweedo, Troy, Todd. Who am I missing?

              totaly unrelated to racing.

Here is the view from my deck overlooking Lake Washington east of Seattle. The unlimited races are held about 5 miles south of here, but in 1974 the Seafair race was held across the lake from me at Sand Point.

You would be missing the D-Railer. We plan on being back for Lawrence, although we have some late nights coming up once Kyle gets back from San Diego.

Not sure if Jim packed it or not,,,,but there has been a rumor of a mystery driver for that rig that is coming...
Also, I do know for sure that there is a DSH coming from the letter "M" and one from the letter "W". So you guys will have plenty to race.
Good luck to all of you and race safe.
