Input On Exhibit!!!

I have been approached by our local mall here in Elizabeth City to put our boats in an exhibit they are having. I talked with the coordinator today and she was very excited to have me bring out the boats. We have lost our local race here ( Camden NC ) and I think this may have a positive impact on getting our sport out there and let people know we are looking for race sites!! I was looking for any and all suggestions on how to go about setting up something. I know some of you have done some things like this in the past and would appreciate any advice you can send this way.

I would suggest calling the APBA headquarters for a supply of brouchers: Driving school, J 's, and some for every catagory. also old propeller mags.
the associate membership form. A laptop and the promotional vid. the whitney point vid if you have it. if you have room it would be nice to have a range of boats and motors. a J, B,C,D a OPC. inboard?
the APBA banner, a stockout board banner would be good
you usually can use more table space than you think. I really should add table space as the brochures and propeller mags take up a substantial amount of room and my table gets cluttered looking. IF they will let you sell items. It might be nice to get with Sherri Runne and have her shirts and things too.

stuff some kevlars with newspaper or blankets or whatever and stick a driver in a boat... put up some racing flags somehow... collect names and emails to generate a local email list for people curious about racing... sit little kids in the boats and let parents take pics with camera or cell phone for fun.

Get yourself a portable video / DVD player that has looping capabilities. The APBA vid that features stock outboards would be a good one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zqP1FMAT4Q).

Thanks for the input!! sounds like some good ideas!! My wife contacted APBA today and they are sending us some brochures and information on racing to put out. So far all I am going to be able to put out is going to be my CSR and I have an ASH. The down side is that the event is only ten days away, not much notice. I am sure with the ideas you have given we can pull off something nice, Thanks again!!
