Registration was 630 am -730 am. UGH. Lot of classes were cancelled due to not enough boats. 25SSH was one of them. Dayton must be too close to Grass Lake because at drivers meeting it was beginning and continued to blow. Around noonish, Ed Hearn announced the water was not raceable. Around 200pm the race committee had decided to move the course when we were leaving at 230pm. I have not heard if racing had continued. They were in the middle of the 2nd set, I think started AMH and had to stop. I will post pictures I took soon as I feed the family, just wanted to give everyone a quick update.

I was in Dayton in July and noticed that the lake folks have dumped a very large pile of rock at the East end of the lake. Last year, I was told that they intend to line the shore with the rock as they have done around the boat launch area in an effort to reduce erosion. It looks to me that that will pretty much limit our boat launching off the beach and may very well impact further races at Dayton. There goes the "hydro bowl" down the drain.

Donny Allen set a record in the second heat of 20ssh. Rick Miller ended up with a record in 400MH. Steve Wheeler broke Rick's record in the first heat, then Rick reclaimed it in the second heat. There might have been a couple more set. Maybe in AXSR or AXSH.
Weather finally came around later in the day. They stayed with the 1 mile course instead of switching to the 3/4 mile course.

picture not always the "whole picture"

You're only seeing about 1/4 of the drivers at the meeting. I believe there were about 20 classes run on Sat. and just over 120 entries. No FAH, FAR, FER, DSR or 25SSH.

1st Ever Win - Congrats Josh Kimble
Congrats to Josh Kimble for his first ever win in boat racing. Josh edged out the field for a victory in Sunday's 850CCMH (FEH), snagging his first ever victory. What a year for the Pro/Mod Driver, a new addition to the family, and his first victory.
Way to go buddy !!Dave Mason
