Any questions you can usually find Propnuts here on hydroracer to answer your questions or anyone else from region 10.

This sounds to be fun and you will find some other posts regarding this race around and about.

Prize shirts are at the printers...

They will feature 2 national champions, an unlimited driver, a father and son, and at least 5 Oregon racers. I think it is also a very safe bet to say that it will feature a few drivers that have NEVER appeared on a prize shirt before. There will also be special edition shirts to be awarded to the top 3 teams in the A/C runabout and A/C hydro marathon races.

BIG NOTE!!! In the likely event that we have an uneven number of A and C entries in each marathon class, participants will be selected based on the order they are registered. If you want to ensure your spot in the marathon, register early (at the race site).

I wouldn't normally do this, but I can tell you that one of the boats on the shirt is blue and yellow and looks suspiciously like an A runabout I used to own C'mon Bill, it'll be fun.

Would the driver happen to be short or tall in this boat you speak of?

Young or old? Rookie or veteran?

I guess you'd have to be at Henley's to find out for sure

Eatonville Race, now with more SPACE (+ other stuff)

Here are some things everyone should know about the upcoming race:

                        1) Bill Diamond is The Man! He just contacted the mortgage company that owns the red house and property, and we can now use the pit space to the left of the ramp like we always have! Pit space was going to be one of our biggest challenges, it's not even an issue anymore.

                        2) Bill also got our permit pushed through the Pierce County beaurocracy, no small feat. As part of the process this year, and something we have always done anyway, I hand delivered notices to all the residents around the lake. Thanks to the previous resort owners (hereafter refered to as the Clampetts) not obtaining permits and holding multiple "events" on the lake, some of the owners are pretty unhappy. The good news is that MOST of the owners can tell the difference between our event and a Clampett event. The other good news is that through years of SOA operating a pretty good race, and the fact that the Henley's are the nicest bunch of folks ever, we have about a 70% approval rating out there. The bad news, as has been recently brought to the front at Lawrence, it only takes 1 or 2 dissenters to make running a boat race for our members extremely difficult if not impossible.

                        3) To make sure that we hang on to the support we have, and maybe even gain a little we will a) positively stop racing at or before 6PM b) strictly enforce the 10PM quiet time c) enforce our rules pertaining to profanity and unseemly behavior. In addition I encourage all of our racers to give the folks around the lake a friendly wave if you see them on the docks. Also, if you see some grumpy people walking around the resort or pits please be kind, helpful, and point them out to me. My experience with the type people that are unhappy with us is that they will be out looking for an excuse to shut us down.

Sorry for all the negativity there, but I know if we all pull together and do the right things we will be able to enjoy many years of happy racing in Eatonville. Thanks, Tony

I can also confirm that the rumors are true...

This race will feature a visit from the one and only Mr and Mrs Blueskyracer all the way from the wilds of Montana. I am looking forward to meeting Mrs Bluesky and showing them some good old SOA hospitality.

I know of one unlimited driver, but is there possibly going to be two? Keep "smiling"?

We are starting to pack for the race since we will be leaving Wednesday evening. I have room to bring my back up boat and motor if you know of a new person that would like to try racing at Eatonville. Let me know if I should bring it otherwise I will leave it at home and try to get some plywood for the three new boats I have to build this winter on our way back.
