  • DSR marathon set up HELP

I am trying to set up a DSR for this weekend . The boat is a Dick Reese built mid 80's with a 44 XS. I have the bottom done (FLAT) and tested several props and found a round ear that seems to work well. I cant seem to get the boat to "hang" it wants to bounce , several trys at kick and height settings have made improvements , but not the ride I want. I have 2 --3 gal tanks centered on the keel just ahead of the steering wheel. Any suggestions on the set up or tank location ? The prop shaft is 1 1/8 below the bottom with a good 3/8 of tuck it plains off well and after it gets up to speed it starts to ride ok but not fly . Thanks

We usually run our tanks as far back as possible and tucked up under the chines. Have you tried running closer too level or just a touch of kick-out? Im happy someone is playin with a 44xs.....Good luck!!
