  • "[QUOTE=dholt;138687]I don't recall the exact number of ASH and ASR elims in '84 and '85.

    That's really not the point."

It seems to me it is the point. When you are using the number of elims as a bench mark for success of a plan or rule implementation.

    • Well, Kev I can tell you there weren't more than 5 elims in ASR at the 1985 Stock Nationals in Dayton. I got a 4th or so and just missed qualifying.

And if we use that logic as complete measure of success or failure, then we should axe the OMC as there were only 2 elims in ASR at Grass Lake.

      That, of course, is absurd.

By the way, as for the 30-H, it was still THE motor to beat at the Nationals (see Matt D. winning in 1989). That's one of the biggest reasons for it's elimination. And if eliminating a motor that only affects a few people is OK (as Ed previously stated), then why is the Merc 25XS not on the chopping block for 25ssR?

      • LOL Dana you where the one that chose to use the number of elims as a benchmark in the first place.

            • even if we went by the numbers sidewinder is not yet ready to supply 300 or 400 motors to make the numbers we used to have in the classes its supposed to take over so we can all see the old motors will phase themselves out anyway hopefully by then everyone can afford one or run the old stuff still till they can .

Stock Outboard is all about a level playing field.

True parity is one motor per class.
